“ Spaghetti & Meatballs “

Ingredients:

For meatballs:

-   1 kg minced beef

   90 g parmesan cheese

-   1 tbs. oregano

  1 tbs. basil

   3 cloves garlic ,crushed

-    1 medium onion,  finely chopped

-     1 tsp. chilli peppers flakes

-     1 tsp. white pepper

-      1 tsp. ginger

-       150g French bread, cut into small pieces

For Sauce:

-    1 tbs. ALKHAIR olive oil

-     1 medium onion, chopped

-    1 medium carrot, finely chopped

-       3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

-      2 tbs. tomato paste

-      ½ cup hot water

-    1 tsp. all-spice

-      8 medium tomatoes, chopped

-     2 tsp. basil

-        1 tsp oregano

-      8 cups water

-       450g  spaghetti pasta

Direction:

1-    Preheat oven to 180 degrees and place oven rack to middle position.

2-    To make meatballs: in a bowl, combine minced meat, parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic, onions, chili flakes, white pepper and ginger.

3-    Gradually mix in the bread pieces until all ingredients are well incorporated.

4-    Shape mixture into medium size meatballs and place on oven tray

5-    Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes

6-     To make sauce: heat ALKHAIR olive oil and sauté onions and carrots and cook until soft. Add tomato paste and garlic and sauté for one minute.

7-    Add hot water, tomatoes, all spice, basil and oregano. Allow to simmer for 1 hour.

8-    Add cooked meatballs into tomato sauce, simmear for 10 minutes.

9-    Cook pasta in boiling water.

10-      Serve cooked pasta on a platter and pour over sauce and meatballs.
