“ Kunafa with mozzarella cheese “


-      500g kunafa, cut into small pieces.

-      1 cup ALKHAIR ghee, melted

-      1 tsp. kunafa pastry coloring

The filling:

-      500g mozzarella cheese, slices

-      1 tsp. mistica, crushed

Serve with:

-      Sugar syrup, to taste.

-      Garnish with Pistachio, grinded


1-    Prepare a wide rounded tray.

2-    In a medium pan, mix ALKHAIR ghee and kunafa pastry coloring, on medium heat.

3-    Pour half the amount of ghee in the tray.

4-    Place Kunafa in a deep dish. Pour the remaining amount of ghee on Kunafa and mix well.

5-    Place half the amount of kunafa in the tray. Press firmly until it hold together and become flat layer.

6-    Add mozzarella slices, sprinkle mistica over, then add the remaining amount of kunafa and press firmly.

7-    Heat oven to 180 degrees. Bake kunafa for 35 minutes or until golden.

8-    Pour Sugar syrup, to taste.

9-    Garnish with Pistachio.
